‘Lost and Found in Translation: Audience design in interpreter-mediated discourse in the UK legal process’

My name is Evgeniya Georgieva and I am currently undertaking my dissertation as part of my MA degree at Aston University. The aim of my project is to explore the role of the professional interpreter in the audience design of institutional communication within the legal process in the UK.  
I am currently running a study to explore the perception of professional legal interpreters of their position within the audience design at different stages of the criminal legal process in the UK. This will be achieved by completing a questionnaire with 36 questions, the answers of which will provide the data set to be analysed and researched for any emerging patterns.
