I am conducting a pilot to understand how Artificial Intelligence (AI) is impacting the field of public service interpreting and invite practising interpreters to share their experiences and perspectives. As AI technologies become increasingly integrated into language services, it is crucial to capture the voices of interpreters.

  2. Fall into one or more of the following categories:
  • Have used AI-powered tools/platforms/apps in interpreting-related tasks (before, during, or after assignments)
  • Work for language service providers that have introduced or are piloting AI integration
  • Have encountered AI technologies in their interpreting practice (e.g., clients using relevant apps, AI-generated materials)
  • Have professional awareness of AI developments in interpreting and hold informed views on their integration (whether supportive, critical, or uncertain), even without direct use
  1. All language pairs, expertise domains, and gender backgrounds welcome

Suitable candidates will participate in one-to-one interviews over Zoom, which will be recorded for research purposes only. Confidentiality is ensured and all personal data will be anonymised.

In appreciation of your time and expertise, you will be compensated at £50 per hour for the interview.
